With reference to the letter from this

Department of the 11th October enclosing a copy of a

telegram to the Governor of Hong Kong relating to the

raiding of the premises of the Chinese Central Trust in

Hong Kong, I am directed by Mr.Secretary MacDonald to

request you to inform Viscount Halifax that the Governor

has reported that investigations are still proceeding

in situ into the records and documents seized which

continue to throw light on:

Assassins' organisation, including mention of the recent murder in Hong Kong of Shum Sung, nephew of "ang Ching-wei.

Espionage on the British Ambassador in China.

The Governor states that the Attorney-General

has advised that no access to the premises or papers

should be allowed to the Chinese Central Trust until the

conclusion of the trial of the persons who are being

prosecuted, which has been set for the 18th of October,

and is expected to last two or three days.
